Reviving (wholesome) Traditions.
Livestock and Equine farming has been a part of our heritage for generations. At Hobby Acres Farm, we are proud to revive this wholesome nostalgic tradition and provide the same high-quality care and services that have been passed down through time.
We are committed to promoting micro-farming practices that are not only healthier for people but also for the animals and environment. Our practices are free from harmful chemicals and pesticides, ensuring that our family and community can live the healthiest possible.
We support our local community by sharing knowledge and using products from nearby farmers and suppliers. Our commitment to using fresh, locally sourced products ensures that our family and livestock receive the highest quality care while also supporting local businesses.
We believe in resurrecting and restoring old, vintage, and classic vehicles (including tractors, trailers, and automobiles) not only for recreational therapy and enjoyment of the final product but also for the environmental benefit of reducing landfill waste and need to replace with new quality products which may not be as robust or reliable.
We are firm believers in minimizing our footprint on the earth through repurposing, upcycling and recycling.

"Soft landing" refers to providing a intimate and minimal stress short-term or longer stay for an animal that can no longer be kept by their current owner or at their current location. Unlike 'rescues' this arrangement is done directly with the 'owner', is of no fault to them or the animal(s), and does not involve the hassle of surrendering their loved pet to a shelter or auction.
Successful graduates of our soft-landing program undergo complete veterinary care (including vaccines, castration if needed, and hoof care) as well as a behavioural assessment and, at minimum, a refresher on basic handling manners before being offered for adoption to new loving homes. Those who require more indefinite care (palliation, retirement, etc...) stay with us among friends to live our their time.
The focus is to provide a safe place for the animal in times of unexpected change. Life happens!
We offer soft landings exclusively for the following:
Contact us to discuss your situation in confidence to assist you with your needs. We always welcome donations and support for our program as adoption fees never cover the costs of rehabilitation.
Our resident licensed mechanic provides off-site service calls for a variety of vintage and classic automotive needs. Specializing in Volkswagon Beetles we have definitely collected quite a few of our own and are happy to show them off at local events and shows.

We can bring the farm to your events, community engagement, educational programs, and more!
